Our wonderful CMO Hannah looking fierce in the Red Jacqueline Bell-Sleeve Dress
DON’T SHY AWAY FROM IT. RED IS BOLD AND SEXY. IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN. LET’S LOOK AT HOW YOU CAN INCORPORATE RED INTO YOUR BUSINESS OUTFIT TO INJECT MORE CONFIDENCE AND POWER IN TO YOUR WORK WARDROBE.
Sometimes all you need is a little splash of color. Michel Pastoureau has written a number of books about color theory. So if anyone knows what red symbolizes, it’s this guy. He describes red as being “the archetypal color, the first color humans mastered, fabricated, reproduced, and broke down into different shades.” This means that red has always held great power throughout history. And who doesn’t love a bit of pop of power-color? Centuries later it is still one of the hottest and fashionable colors on the runway. It represents many things: passion, seduction, adventure, love, and anger. But more than anything is symbolizes power. And for us, dressing like a #bossladies is all about Power Dressing.
Red attracts attention, and that’s exactly why we love it. There is a reason why we instantly feel so much more in control and confident in a red dress. It’s power dressing at its best!
Here are some reasons why we love red so much:
Audrey Hepburn said that “there is a shade of red for every woman”. And she was right. Red is universally flattering. Red looks good on everyone and suits all skin tones.
It’s hard not to smile and be happy when wearing such a positive color. It is so adynamic and captivating that you are guaranteed to turn office-chairs.
Red is a strong color and makes you feel like the bosslady you are. You will not fade away into the background if you wear red. It is the definition of ‘Power Dressing’.
It can be worn in so many ways. Wear it alone for a bold attention-grabbing statement outfit, or mix it with a print for a more subtle look. This Spring, we are really into pairing it back with some neutral colors.
We know wearing such a strong color can also feel a bit intimidating. But we challenge you to do it. Be bold! Be brave! Be fierce!
And if you’re unsure, just fake it till you make it! But do it wearing red.
