A capsule collection for Spring
The Spring j.jackman micro-collection is here. Finally! Scrolling through the photos after the shoot, I couldn't help myself from saying "yassss." I am just going to claim it: we are definitely taking sustainable fashion up a notch.
There is a German saying I love that goes "Klein aber fein." It means small, but good. That's the motto of what you can expect from our collections going forward, because we are changing things up here at the j.jackman atelier. Instead of releasing two big collections a year, we are going for smaller, micro-collections each month. We're happy about the change. It means we can be more creative all year round and more flexible to react to your requests for new colors and new styles. More on that later, though.
For this micro capsule collection, a few things were swirling in my mind. First, I wanted to play with off-white as a bold color. Similar to red, I feel a key piece in white (like our new Perfect Pencil) or, if you're really bold, an all white look, really makes a "wow" statement that is perfect for this time of year.
Also, I have always felt Spring to be a difficult time to get dressed. It can be warm in the sun, but as soon as you cross the street into the shade, suddenly it feels as though you actually should have brought that jacket with you. That's why I wanted pieces that could work well in both scenarios. I decided to play around with versatile fabrics, like the ribbed organic cotton for our new Favorite T-Shirt (psst- it comes with shoulder pads, too!) It has enough weight to keep you warm under a blazer or cardigan when you need it, but it is still cut for warmer days.
You know that for us, sustainable fashion starts with wearing key pieces in your wardrobe many times. So, I also wanted to make sure you could mix and match the new pieces with each other and with previous j.jackman collections, too. I can see our new wrap top with pretty much any color of our Perfect Pencil, or our Favorite Turtleneck in Leopard Print with our new CELESTE skirt.
I hope you like the new pieces as much as we do. You can find them all here.
Please feel free to share your thoughts with me - I love hearing from you.
All the best from Berlin,
